EUAPPTIVE Project Meeting in Odense: Advancing Active and Healthy Ageing through Digital Innovation

Odense, Denmark – September 24, 2024

The EUAPPTIVE project, an Erasmus+ initiative dedicated to promoting active and healthy ageing through digital innovation, held a significant project meeting on September 24, 2024, in the City of Odense, Denmark. Hosted by the University of Southern Denmark, the meeting brought together consortium members to focus on the crucial Work Package 2 (WP2): Research and Challenge Design.

EUAPPTIVE project, running for 24 months, aims to foster active lifestyles and enhance digital skills among Europe’s senior population. The project leverages a custom-designed app to inspire physical activity and social engagement, aligning with the European Union’s priorities for Active and Healthy Ageing.

The meeting in Odense has focused on discussing the initial research phase under WP2, which involves a systematic review of strategies and good practices in active ageing, physical activity, and the use of ICTs to engage the elderly population. This phase ensures a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities to effectively develop and implement the project’s innovative app and activity program.

  • Establishing monitoring strategies and measurement indicators.
  • Highlighting the benefits of participation and identifying potential rewards.

“This meeting in Odense was pivotal for shaping the EUAPPTIVE project’s approach to creating impactful and inclusive solutions for Europe’s aging population,” said Marcos López-Flores, Managing Director of the Lead Partner Sport Innovation Hub, “By combining digital innovation with evidence-based strategies, we are building a strong foundation to empower the silver generation across Europe.”

As Europe faces an aging population, the EUAPPTIVE project represents a forward-thinking initiative to address this societal challenge. The project not only aims to boost physical activity but also fosters social inclusion and digital literacy, ensuring a better quality of life for seniors.
