EUAPPTIVE Challenge will start in June 2025 targeting all the citizens, elderly population in particular. It will last for 16 weeks with the main focus on active time (hours), distance walked or cycled (km), progress of the participants (%), CO2 saved (tons) and self perception (RPE).
Consortium partners have discussed EUAPPTIVE Challenge’s structure, philosophy and gamified features, emphasizing the powerful role of #BeActive Week (European Week of Sport 2025), for maximizing engagement of participants. The European municipalities will be invited to join the Challenge to track activities of its citizens through the app and even integrate their own local events.
The Challenge will encourage daily movement, starting from just 15 minutes a day and gradually increasing, rewarding consistency and progress. Push notifications will support users of the app with motivational tips and updates.
The meeting concluded with the planning for the next in-person TPM, to be held on May 8, 2025 and will be hosted by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Poiares in Portugal.
