EUAPPTIVE Partners Gather for Online TPM on September 30, 2025

On September 30, 2025, EUAPPTIVE consortium partners held a productive online Transnational Project Meeting 4 (TPM) to evaluate progress and wrap up the summer phase of activities.

The meeting brought together representatives from:

  • Sport Innovation Hub (Spain) – Lead Partner
  • ACES Europe (Belgium)
  • Municipality of Vila Nova de Poiares (Portugal)
  • Southern Denmark University (Denmark)

The session was led by Julia Fernandez Valdes (Sport Innovation Hub), with a strong focus on the recently completed #BeActive Challenge, which was running from July 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025, culminating during the European Week of Sport 2025 (September 23–30, 2025).

The Challenge aimed to promote daily physical activity among elderly European citizens, encouraging everyone to be more active and to start with just 15 minutes of movement per day. It was built around accessibility, inclusivity and motivation, targeting especially the less active and elderly population.

According to early results, the top three cities with the highest participation in the #BeActive Challenge were:

  • Lepoglava (Croatia)
  • Vila Nova de Poiares (Portugal)
  • Kayseri (Turkey)

These cities will be formally recognized for their engagement in physical activity at the ACES Gala Ceremony, to be held at the European Parliament in Brussels on December 11, 2025.

The EUAPPTIVE Project partners have agreed about the next steps as follows:

  • final report with the full #BeActive Challenge results and insights will be prepared by November 30, 2025.
  • The final EUAPPTIVE project meeting will take place on November 19, 2025, in Gijón (Spain), alongside an event co-organized in cooperation with the City of Oviedo, recently declared as the European City of Sport 2026.

EUAPPTIVE partners are content that they were able to organize such an event as #BeActive Challenge.
