The EUAPPTIVE project held its Final Multiplier Sport Event in Oviedo, celebrating both the project’s results and the city’s new title: European City of Sport 2026.

The event in Oviedo explored strategies to promote physical activity in cities, especially for older adults, highlighting the role of innovation, technology and public policy.

At the event following speakers, representatives of the host, City of Oviedo and EUAPPTIVE consortium partners, took part:

Highlights:

• Presentation of the final results of the EUAPPTIVE – European Active Ageing Challenge
• Insights on sport and health promotion from ACES Europe, Southern Denmark University (SDU), and Sport Innovation Hub (SIH), as a Lead Partner in EUAPPTIVE project.
• Discussion of the success of the inter-municipality challenge combining exercise, digital skills, and social participation
• Announcement of the ACES Gala Ceremony in the European Parliament premises in Brussels, on December 11, 2025 with the presence of representatives of European Commission, European Parliament, UNESCO and awarded cities across Europe and the world.

Representatives from different municipalities, sports organizations, sport federations and sport/health start-ups from across Asturias.
